Weather extensions for FireFox
« on: August 02, 2015, 09:01:00 AM »
I use FireFox 39.0 for my browser, running 10.9.5.

I've been using the AniWeather extension, the latest version for a long time to find weather conditions.

It hasn't been working correctly lately. When I click on on in my menu bar, windows just keep on opening by themselves and I have to
force quit FireFox to stop it and of course fill out a crash report.

Is there another Weather program that anyone uses that's stable with FireFox? i downloaded Oplao but I don't like it.

Any comments would be appreciated.

TIA
Gary S

I can't answer your Firefox question (I use Safari) but you could try http://www.weather.gov and search for your location. I use that as my home page but you could bookmark it. I find that that site is very accurate, much more so than weather.com.

This: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ad...ion/?src=search - gets 5 stars from 127 reviewers...

Another option is using a weather widget in Dashboard: https://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/information/ - FairWeather pulls its data from the NOAA. (I use the Canadian equivalent for Environment Canada)

And if you have a customizable browser start page as I do (Yahoo - very heavily customized) then you can add a weather widget to that.

Lots of ways to skin this cat. smile.gif

Thanks a lot!

Paddy, I like Forecastfox (fix version) 2.3.1 very much. Thanks for helping me skin that cat.

Not an extension or addon but I use Accuweather  Once you put your location in, it has a great feature that tells you where the rain is and when it will start/stop at your location. I find it to be pretty helpful for going out on walks and riding bikes.

Thanks Bruce.

Accuweather is excellent site of course but it doesn't allow having it in my FireFox menu bar for quick reference. They do have an app for Android phones and iPhones, I use an iPhone, and Windows 8.

Forecastfox (fix version) 2.3.1 is running flawlessly on FireFox 39.0, running 10.9.5. I do like it a lot. It gives me everything I need including radar etc.

On my iPhone I use eWeather HD. Great little app.
