Web Browser - What's your favorite
« on: September 21, 2015, 10:50:37 AM »
I use Safari on Snow Leopard and Mavericks (the latest available for each).

Safari on Snow Leopard is getting very long on the tooth.

But I hang onto Snow because I really like it.

I also have been running firefox on both systems.

I have been very happy with firefox until now.

Dumping it because of some very major interface changes they have made on their latest versions.

Looking for a replacement.

What's your favorite and why?

Chromium - what do you think about it ?

Or other ?

Thanks,

Jack

I use Chrome as my primary Web browser, and quite like it. I abandoned Firefox a long time ago--I find it clumsy and clunky, and the user interface seems to be getting uglier with each new release.

Chrome is fast and stable, and has given me no problems.

Safari most of the time, Chrome some of the time and Firefox for Firebug when doing website development.

Almost always Safari, mainly because it seems to have settled into a standard interface... which probably means that there will be major changes after EC comes out! laughhard.gif I also used a "Poodle-proof version of Chrome during the first part of the year. I had to find a replacement for Speed Download a few weeks ago, so I ended up updating Opera, Chrome, and FF. That was the first time running any of them for several months! Habits are hard to break, but I also try to use most of the apps my wife does, so I have a better chance of finding a problem she might have...after 50 years, the fact that 'if momma ain't happy...' yes.gif

Safari on SL is almost useless since it has not been updated security-wise and it runs into problems on some sites. I don't have a problem with FF since it is updated regularly. Personally don't use Chrome on principle, it's that Google-knows-too-much already thing. Yeah, I know, everyone knows too much. I just have a spidey feeling about the big G (and Amazon but that's harder to avoid if you shop there).
