Ipad 2 back up...?
« on: October 09, 2016, 08:29:19 AM »
Hi,

Every month i try to back up my ipad on itunes...this time when connecting it, it doesn't show up on itunes . mad.gif

Rebooting the macbook  and retrying has no effect... what can i do ? Thinking.gif

As itunes was launched, i  went to app and unfortunately click on update all applications...seems it's reloading all the apps  and  now , at current speed,   i got to wait all day long to complete... wallbash.gif is it dangerous to cancel..?

Thanks

GR

And what has happened now? I'm a little confused - if iTunes can't see the iPad, how on earth is it updating the applications on it?

Usually, when i connect the ipad to the mac,  i see the little ipad icon on the left and itunes  download  only  a few  new apps  by itself...

Going to apps on itunes and clicking  update  all the apps were downloaded ...and takes a lot of time

What can i do to get the ipad showing on itunes when connecting  it  Thinking.gif

Thanks

You might want to UNcheck "Open iTunes when this iPad is connected". Should be the first item in the "Options" section of the "Summary". Pictures at 10! wink.gif

Try to remember, iTunes was never intended to be to control/sync/connect/operate iPads/iPhones. It was designed to download and install music (and later videos) to iPods. All the uses for backing up/syncing/restoring/etc. of iPads/iPhones are secondary and (in my opinion) poorly added functions. wallbash.gif

Hi,

It seems that the last ipad update 9.3.5 is not compatible whith itunes  in Snow leopard 10.6.8 : -(

Is there another way to back up  ? than   keeping the " only new update apps  " function ?

Thanks

Perhaps the source of that info has some help. I don't have 10.6 installed on anything. Sorry.

Hi,

As the back up whith itunes is no longer available whith Snow leopard , i bought 50 gb on Icloud for it.

Once done..on the ipad used space is about 30 gb, the back up is only 6gb ..; Thinking.gif

Do i forget something  before backing ?

Not so clear  huh.gif

... don't know what was backed up ?  do i have to make another back up  ? is it automatic and  incremental?

Thanks for your help
