If you double-click a Pages/Numbers/Keynote document, it will auto-frustratingly open it in the new version. The only way I've found to prevent this is to only use a drag-the-document-to-the-old-version method. <rant>I blame this on Apple for destroying the old system of Type/Creator/etc. meta data that caused trouble
ONLY for Windows users. How is that Apple's problem?
That behavior never seemed to bother MS.
New documents (and not just iWorks) simply use nothing but the file name suffix. And, since they did not change that (even as Microsoft did when it moved to new versions
), the new apps grab and modify the old files, often deleting/dropping any past feature that did not migrate to the "new" versions". But joy of joys, we can now present our crippled presentations on crippled devices... for a small additional fee. </rant>
