What's this little green leaf?
« on: November 09, 2016, 03:52:24 PM »
When I visit here, Techsurvivors, I always see this little green leaf in the bottom left corner of the screen (under the word Open). As soon as I move the mouse, it disappears.

Edited to clarify that this happens HERE: http://www.techsurvivors.net/forums/index.php?act=idx

uhmmm... do you have a link? Or maybea domain name? The actual image is no bigger than the "Reduced 25%" image and the text is obscuring most of the 'leaf'. I think there is something like that (leaf) at Ancestry.com. wink.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

uhmmm... OK. You are seeing the 'leaf' when you visit the TS main index? That's where your link goes. Thinking.gif dntknw.gif

What browser are you using?

What Safari extensions are installed/enabled?

What color is your Desktop image?

Are you left-handed?!

Yes, this is the ONLY site I see this leaf on.

BINGO! Yes I use Safari and I'd not thought to look at my extensions. I had something called "Ultimate Status Bar" running, and the 'theme' it was using was 'funky green'. Since it never does anything, I'd quite forgotten about this extension. It's now gone and so is that green leaf. smile.gif Thanks.

My desktop is currently a fall photo that Sneakers took on one of our vacations, but I change it every couple of days. The red you see is the theme I'm using here: Blood Wine.

laugh.gif No, but Sneakers was, does that count? laugh.gif

I have that installed. Never tried it's Theme functions. Still seems to work fine, otherwise. I use it to have the actual URL display at the bottom of the window, lengthen shortened urls, show the file size for downloadable files, add descriptive text to urls and log ererz to Console.

I never found any "theme" modifying apps that didn't cause problems, even in pre-OS X systems.

Unfortunately, the dev's site is no longer on-line and the extension is not in Apple's list. It may not be still under development/support. dntknw.gif

Back in a previous century my Dad was friends with a man named O'Neal that ran a car dealership called "Greenlease-O'Neal" but he had asked for
a memorable ad campaign on the television and a lot of people had those new-fangled color tv sets.  So his campaign asked people to think of "Greenleaf-
O'Neal" whenever they saw green leaves on the trees.  So maybe this is left over from that?  rolleyes.gif

I guess he didn't care about the falling leaves in the fall?
