I ate lots of delicious food. My friend tried new recipes and everything was terrific. We sat and watched the lightening and rain, listened to the thunder and talked and laughed. The drive home was nerve wracking. I don't normally drive at night in the winter as there aren't many street lights, and in the rain the visibility is really bad. My route home took me past a tree that was leaning and it fell 15-30 minutes after I went by the spot.

Then just before my turn to come up my hill, I hit a flooded spot in the road. Too dark to see it, I went into the water around 25mph. Car lost traction, and I eased up on the gas and let my lovely tires find the road. Then I crept through the rest of the area, praying I didn't wind up with water in my car engine. I was glad to have made it up my hill and into my garage.
If I'd known about any of this, I'd have gone the long way round.
Once home, I sat down and watched the Cowboys vs Redskins game as I'd recorded it. Good game.
