Still using/playing with OS9 and pre-Intel Macs?
« on: December 12, 2016, 04:03:45 AM »
I found this Happy Macs blog which anyone interested in pre-Intel machines might find as fascinating as I did.

Can't recall where I came across the link - might even have been on this forum smile.gif

We have 2 in our attic.
On page 102 of the newest(January) Mac|Life magazine there is an article on this subject.
Its called 'Run very old Mac software', you need a floppy drive and a very old Mac.
They say it takes an hour for this project. Im not going to try it, but it might be fun at some point.
Maybe I will turn my grandson loose on it.

I'd like to run older mac/os to play a game called something like "Ghosts of Feudal Japan" that I have on some old MAC hard drive I have.  It was very atmospheric and more than a little scary and I've never seen it on newer OS!  I'm also going to update my dual-processor G5 Powermac to a newer version of Linux (currently Yellow Dog which won't run a very new browser). There is a shaky video at Youtube about this process:
