« on: July 27, 2003, 01:15:40 PM »
Can one install OS9.1 over OS8.6 or "must" it be a clean install as in re-installing all the programs etc, etc, etc?

Thnx... smile.gif

OS 9.0 first DB. Or in between 8.6/9.1.

Yeah. Bill's saying if it's a 9.1 Upgrade I think. smile.gif

If you have a full 9.1 Install CD you can just install it over 8.6.

Not ideal but you can do it. smile.gif

Ah... OK, I have the CD for OS9.0.4... close enough I hope?

Actually in any case I was thinking of "sort" of a clean install as in a new system folder with the newer OS and then merge with CC to get back prefs, extensions etc.

Was mainly hoping to avoid needing to install "everything" fresh.

Yes, Kelly I have full installations of both 9.0.4 and 9.1... I found 9.1 to be much more stable than the earlier 9.x...

Yep Dream. That's what I meant. If you didn't have a 'full' install 9.1.
You need the 9.0 first.

And you do. smile.gif

thanx.gif Bernie and Bill... biggrin.gif

I think I'll give a clean install (system folder) of 9.1 and careful merge via CC with the 8.6 system folder a try... see how it works. If all is well, cool! I can try it all out for a week...
