Netscape 7.0.2 question
« on: July 29, 2003, 12:30:09 PM »
Last week I was examining my HDD on my Beige G3 running OS9.1 and found my inbox file-> Documents->Mozilla->Profiles-> my name->622mz0pe.slt->mail->inbox,
was 79 mb in size although nothing was in my inbox.

I trashed the inbox file and it generated a new one that was 17k and now is 247k even though nothings in my inbox.

Does anyone know why that file grows? Does it keep track of all emails that come into the inbox or what? huh.gif

GaryS:  I'm not sure of this, but I do believe it tracks the server side preference file that's invisible to you.

ljocampo,

I'm not clear as to what you mean. Can you clarify that? smile.gif

Like what would it be picking up...file sharing?

GaryS:

Some mail programs keep a message file of the messages you get from the mail server, until you actually delete them from the mail server, so the program can sync its in-box.  This file might account for the space you see being used.  But, like I said, I'm not sure in your case.

I delete them from the server each time I check. Hummmm, don't know.

Thanks.
