Help Needed: OE 5 Microsoft/Mac Edition
« on: July 30, 2003, 07:14:02 PM »
oops.gif  Evening,

I have Cox HSI and since I have had it installed, I get continuous  error messages when clicking on links sent via email.
They use Outlook Express and everything gets routed through Internet Explorer.
The Dialog says "An error occurred loading MS Internet library PPC library."

I searched through my Control Panels and found the Microsoft Library (2 of them).  They were turned off.  I checked them to go on hit Restart.  Went back in and they were still turned off.
No matter how many times I repeated this procedure, and Restarted, the result was the boxes remained unchecked.

Another related Dialog message tells me that Reinstalling should solve the problem (sorry I can't remember when this message came up) but it still has to do with the PPC Library.

Obviously, I am missing something in these steps.  What do they mean by reinstalling?  The size of the Library is substantial.

Can anyone tell me about this Microsoft for Mac Internet Library (PPC) and what I can do to fix this problem?

Mrs. L. See if there's a Folder inside the Internet Explore Folder called:

Microsoft Internet Self-Repair?

Inside this folder  should be an Icon for an Application called:

Microsoft Internet First Run

Click on it twice to get it to run.

After it is done restart your computer.

See if that does it. smile.gif

clap.gif Very Funny kelly,
I see you've read Dick's post.  As it happens, one of the emails that I was trying to click on the link to was about Rhode Island being named the 10th Best City to live in and its surrounding suburbs.

By the way, your information perfect and the Microsoft Repair worked just fine.

It took me a little longer to get back here because I wanted to click on another of my emails and it contained stuff that needed flash player to open?  These emails that my friends send me are just hilarious.  I was able to see them perfectly on WebTV/MSN TV (my back-up dial up service).  I liked them so well that I sent it to my new email address to send to my TS friends and I find that I can't open them and play them.   am particularly peeved because I was able to view these little videos after installing Flash Player this afternoon.  All these web things have the ending "  .swf  ".  I thought once it was installed it was a done deal.  Never has one woman attempted to do so much for so little a return.  I find that I am right back to square one.  Install Flash Player Again or forget about it.

But that's another topic which I shall promptly post.

See you back on the board.

kelly, you're "the man"   thanx.gif
