Can't watch home movies on iPad anymore?
« on: November 27, 2018, 04:19:27 PM »
Just noticed... I wanted to play home movies of my dogs... however they no longer sync to the iPad since there's nothing but a TV app and no Video app. However it consistently syncs TV shows I've removed from my HD and don't want on the iPad... there they are in the TV app?

Be aware I use iTunes 12.6.4 with my iOS 11.4.1

However can one just not sync them anymore at all or???

The only videos on my MBP are a concert by Bruce Springsteen and 8 little videos of my dogs... taken with a digital camera. They always showed up in the video app which is no more...
But I have TV shows gone from my MBP in TV app. They are in the stupid iCloud so I guess they aren't taking any space which is what I wanted to get.

OK... sorry for the swiss cheese brain... I found the home videos... you have to click on the library down arrow.

However I still can't get it to stop putting TV shows that don't exist on my MBP anymore so it must be helping itself to iCloud for those.

So you get TV Shows even if you've selected to hide them in iTunes and they are hidden in the store... but they show up in your TV App... apparently it's a "fluke"in TV App :upset:

At least things that don't exist don't use much space... ;) Those would be "real" space-savers! :whoosh:

Uh-Huh, and that's at least the only good thing about it... in TV App they show but if you want to see them you have to download them from iCloud... so they just sit there.

Oh as for space I got what I wanted... I took off some stuff I'm not using right now and got according to the iPad in Settings General iPad space 10GB. I didn't remove anything that will cost me data so no problem but I have a backup anyway.

On an iPad it's in the little clump of Apple Apps or "Folder" I should say but if your iPad is not running I think at least iOS 10.x something you probably don't have it far as I know. There used to be a Video app.

Just wanted to mention why some folks don't like TV shows showing up that shouldn't one bit... one fellow doesn't want the chance of his kids getting the idea they can watch them... NO idea what kind of shows he has!  :coolio:
