I downloaded and installed Edge, just out of curiosity. It's still in beta, so I won't be using it much (and I really like Safari) but it's always good to have a backup browser or two.

That is an interesting article. I wasn't aware that so many browser choices are available. Along the way, I have used some of the better known browsers like Netscape and iCab.

My old MacBook Pro has (according to Apple) become another un-supported piece of hardware. Safari only functions if I choose to have no Extensions. So, I've moved on to Firefox. It's fast, it's up-to-date and it supports the Extensions I want to use.

Edge might be a good browser and maybe some day I'll try it. If it's anything like Chrome, it won't be on my computer very long. I tried Chrome and it drove me nuts with all the interfering pop-ups.

I kept wondering why the author keeps referring to the "new" Edge. It's not actually "new" except, possibly, for the Mac. It was announced with the introduction of Windows 10 back in Jan 2015. Originally called Project Spartan as far back as 2014. Makes both the OS and the app 4 years old. :dntknw: And it's actually based on Google's notoriously insecure Chrome. No thanks. :coolio:
