How to download from a deceased friend's laptop?

 A good friend just died at his office desk. A HUGE shock to his family and friends.
We worked on several community volunteer projects together. One of them involved government grant reporting and financial statements. His daughter was able to download and give me relevant folders, mostly MS Word and PDF files. But she doesn't know how to do that for his emails. He used a Windows Outlook(?) email.
What should she look for to be able to download emails over the past few years, so I can read them on my Mac OS?

I would suggest search Microsoft-related forums/sites. I doubt any of us have dealt with this problem, even those few who actually use Outlook.

There are several approaches you could take here, Raven. The easiest would be to simply give you access to his mail account, assuming he was using IMAP and all the mail is still online. However, his daughter may not want to do that, if it was an email account used for lots of other things too.

Next easiest option would be to forward all the relevant emails to you - note that I said “easiest” - not necessarily least time consuming!

There are a bunch of other options as well, but approximately how many emails are we talking about here? And were all the relevant emails sorted into folders (which could be online or offline - just like Mac Mail)?

Paddy,  He used Windows 10, Outlook. How does his daughter find out if it's IMAP?
There would be several 100 emails involved over a year's time or longer because he was on the Board of several non profit organizations.
She has sent me screen shots of the mail folders he kept. There would only 2 that we need the emails from.
I use Apple Mail.
