Windoze 10 Cloning question
« on: June 11, 2020, 04:02:02 PM »
If possible, I'd like some recommendations for some Windows 10 cloning programs. There's about 5 or 6 that seem to be quite usable... I know Paddy told me in an email what she uses for the Library she works for in Toronto, but I can't find the email. I'm using a Dell Optiplex 980 with an audio recording and storage program that only works in Windows, and actually had a 500 GB WD Caviar ATA HDD on hand that I bought years ago for the previous Windows machine. The Optiplex is refurbished, cheap, and didn't come with a system disk, Windows 10 Pro is installed. So I'd like to clone the C drive to this backup drive, the E drive.
One program that has been recommended to me by a Windows tech I know is EaseUS ToDo.

Any thoughts?

TIA,

Chris

 :whistling:

From Feb. 16, 2020 email:

As for cloning - we use EaseUs on the historical society PCs. Stupidly simple to use and seems to work just fine. (on par with CCC in simplicity/ease of use - set it and forget it, in our case)

Other than that...not the library...don't work there (on the board; we're all volunteers) and it's certainly not in Toronto!! :D

I've been in exchanges like that.

I have a hearing aid in each ear (I always blame 70s rock) but neither they nor the ears are perfect. It usually starts with "I didn't say that..."  OR, when I've given what I consider a sensible response to a remark: "What..? What do you THINK I said... "

We do have some good laughs at times, though  :)

Sorry -  :offtopic:

I think I'll just chalk it up to a senior moment, Neil!  :laughhard: :notworthy: :whistling:
Paddy and I have exchanged a lot of emails over the last 6 months about another subject, and I'm not as fastidious as I'd like to be with archiving and organizing...  :coolio:

Gotta go, but this reminds me of today's Dilbert. After dinner... or, as we say down south, supper! :)
