I've used Zoom numerous times for business meetings where the host sends the link to invited guests. Easy to use and works quite well, BUT...
Today I attended a zoom meeting for a friend who suddenly died two weeks ago. His wife arranged a zoom service of the funeral because of covid restrictions and many friends live far away. Ten minutes into the religious service pornographic photos and audio showed up on the zoom screen. It was a disgusting shock! My wife and I had to LEAVE the meeting. I hope the few people at the church would not know this was taking place until later.
The Zoom service was advertised beforehand in an obituary notice in the newspaper with the ID and password.
Is that what led the hacker into the event?
The hacker would have been able to see all the participants.
Does that make them open to the same hacker?
Was there anything that a participant or the host could have done to kick this hacker out at the time?
I hope my friend's wife would not have seen any of this during the service. She may find out later.
I can't begin to say here what I think of such a**holes!
