Apple changes stuff because they can: Apple TV Remote

Apple just discontinued and removed the TV Remote app from the App Store with the latest iOS update. But don't panic. If you're somebody who had been using the TV Remote app on your iPhone, you can still control your Apple TV with iPhone
— it's just … harder to get to!!! :wallbash:

It’s now “available” in Control Center. However, they left the icon in the Home Screen. Why? Only reason I can think of is to train us to use the downward swipe (but only in the extreme upper, right-hand corner) to access the CC! Otherwise, touching the icon would simply open the CC for us. Or, perish the thought, simply Open the remote! :blueeek:

So now, one must swipe downward (in the correct place), find the Remote icon in CC, and touch it. These steps will only work if you have first actually enabled/added the TV Remote in CC. Otherwise, you will get a mostly useless but time consuming dialog ‘allowing’ to read the announcement that the Remote is now only available in CC. Or you can touch the even less useful “OK” button and still not have the Remote available. :coolio: :WOW:

I can hardly wait for the iOS to become more integrated into the Mac…. Whatever happened to the “There is no step three”?!
