Strange ??? cbhikcodigmigfbntmam/fkipp
« on: September 28, 2023, 09:58:38 AM »
Recently I downloaded Monterey 12.7 and I have noticed I was informed when using linkedin today on Chrome, that twice I had the attached screen shot showing cbhikcodigmigfbntmam/fkipp

I copied a note from my notes, and it did not copy the note - i went back to the note and my original copy was not there - half my note had gone (fortunately) I have copies.

Have I picked up something?

It would be prudent to run Malware Bytes. See https://www.malwarebytes.com

As I understand it, MalwareBytes checks for malware system-wide. It is not limited to any browser.

No idea. I tried a search with DuckDuckGo and (shudder!) Google but came up empty.

This morning I noticed, when typing my password to enter my Macbook Air that i typed the first letter and it had two characters down, so had to do turn off the computer completely and it then accepted my password to enter.

I had something similar. I had to enter my administrator password to install software and the computer refused to accept it. A restart solved it.

Well I am still getting it - I cleaned all the cookies from Chrome and am still getting it.
So all this comes down to which browser should I use?
Safari
Chrome
Microsoft Edge (their landing page has too many adds on it
I am thinking that if it only happens on Chrome ...... shouldn't use Chrome
