kill spam
« on: March 05, 2024, 06:52:29 AM »
Lately, I have been inundated with spam and setting Rules has not helped. I finally seemed to have solved the problem after I realized that most of the sender's emails ended with .de Consequently, I set up a rule to delete any email that contains .de in the From field, and it seems to be working. I assume that de refers to Germany (Deutschland). I have also received emails ending in .es which I assume is Estonia.

I did some research and .es is Spain (EspaƱa). As it turns out, Estonia is .ee

Why are you not using Spamsieve?
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

I don't use SpamSieve for the best of reasons:

1. I'm cheap.
2. I'm lazy.

2. If you were lazy you wouldn't waste time trying to build Mail's rules. Spamsieve learns more than just the domain name of the sender. It also learns from the words used in the message. It builds much more than a list of sender names or where they come from. The rule you define may not even be used again. :wallbash:

1. What else can you buy for $2.67 a month (last major update price)? And you only pay for major updates (2.x to 3.x) not incremental ones(3.0 to 3.3) Plus, this is a Mac only app. Help support Mac Devs!
