Back up drive issue
« on: December 05, 2024, 12:12:35 PM »
For numerous years I have been using Super Duper to back up my graphic design work to two external hard drives. I alternate them every week. Being retired now, I only need to access some files on occasion. My old iMac was getting too full, so I transferred some files to the EHDs. I keep aliases on my iMac to know where to find them, if needed. BUT…
because I moved files and folders around over the years, it appears I have multiple folders of the same on both EHDs. See image. I show the sizes of the folders which tells me they hold the same and different files.
Is there any app or way to merge those folders and delete duplicate files so I can keep all files in ONE folder on the EHD with the same name? Hope that makes sense.

Search App Store for Duplicate File Finder Remover. I have never used it but it might be just the ticket.

Thanks, jchuzi. Will explore that and report.
