autofill
« on: December 06, 2025, 01:13:33 PM »
Safari's Autofill is very handy but I thought that it was limited to using my contact info from Contacts. This was a bit of a nuisance if I wanted to autofill another address, say for sending a gift. My wife came across a way to have Safari autofill anything in Contacts. As an example, I have Contacts set to sort by last name.

In the Last Name field of whatever site you visit, type the first letter of the desired recipients name. Wait a few seconds, and a dialog box appears that lets you scroll down to that person's name. Select it, and all the fields will be automatically filled. This beats having to do it manually.

I don't know anyplace where this feature is listed but my wife came across it by accident.

Thanks!
It may be OS specific.

LiveWire has some info for those using Chrome and/or Firefox

You might want to check the capabilities of adding fields to Contact pages that might be useful in specific sites if you are helping people. (Care-giving for a person my adding some life details in their Contact Card [/Card/Add Field]. ie; Maiden Name, Job Title, Related Name, etc.)
