Postscript color printer for OSX?
« on: September 10, 2003, 11:40:56 AM »
Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a postscript color printer out there for OSX? I presently use the Epson Stylus 1520 with RIP software, however Epson doesn't have a Sylus RIP software update for OSX out yet, so I have to restart my computer in OS9 whenever I need to print color. I'm not happy with this printer anyway as the paper feed doesn't work 80 percent of the time! (it shoots the page through without printing anything on it - very annoying to say the least).

I also need my color printer to print at least up to 11 x 17 inch paper... this is very important, as I'm a graphic design professional and use that size frequently.

Any advice would be welcome... thanks!

Hi Sarah,

People are reporting good results with Gimp-Print.

Be sure to check the site out thoroughly. Read the FAQ's and maybe even check the forums for information on the latest word from fellow users.

Gimp-Print is in developement. New upgrades/improvements are constantly being released.

I used an early version and I was impressed with the results, but I haven't updated as I have no need for the postscript driver at this time.

Let us know how things work out, if you decide to give it a try!

I'm not a complete idiot -- a few parts are missing!
