I read that Apple Computer is most probably gonna win this, as it seems that in USA, since a few years it's hardly impossible to have the pattent on a single word like "apple".
And for the record company, it's a nice way of staying in the news i guess dry.gif

I think Apple will win and hopefully send the idiots a jar of AppleSauce...

I think it's more than just staying in the news. It's about lots of money.

The iTunes Music Store is really huge success generating lots of revenue.
And Apple Corps would like to have a slice of the cake.

I too think that Apple Corps has no right to sue Apple Computer again, but that's what the courts have to decide.

We'll see.

I think Apple will  probably have to pay more money. smile.gif

And just consider it part of the cost of doing business. smile.gif

Has anyone thought of a forced buy-out?

Can Our Apple buy the Beatle eaten Apple? biggrin.gif

Wouldn't that solve some problems

Peace

 It acutally would.

But Yoko Ono would NEVER allow that to happen.

Forced buyouts only work if there is sufficient stock available to be bought.  I don't think That Apple Corp.  is publicly traded.

Finally found the info I remembered but needed proof.

In 1969-1970 I worked freelance for a furniture/electronics design firm doing illustrations for boards that were used by salesmen for prospective customers.
One of the companies I did drawings for was the McIntosh company which produced audio equipment. They were thinking of starting a line of home entertainment console centers and I made 24 scale drawings for their salesmen. I don't believe the items were ever made or sold on the market. I'm still researching that part. But I made enough money from that assignment to buy my first car. smile.gif

Anyway, I did come up with this from a history of the McIntosh company:

1983

QUOTE
McIntosh enters into a license agreement with the Apple Computer Company. The agreement is for 10 years and allows Apple Computer to use the Macintosh name in connection with computer production. There is a fee paid by Apple at the beginning of the agreement. Although the spelling is not the same, it sounds the same when it was spoken.

The following statement appears on the label in the back of the Macintosh Plus 1Mb computer.
Apple and the Apple logo are registered trademarks of Apple Computer, Inc. Macintosh is a trademark of McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. and is being used with express permission of its owner.

From this page.

I found it quite odd that I worked for McIntosh long before ever seeing or using a Mac.

I didn't know that. But I just checked and it's true! smile.gif

One of the rumors I encountered in my time (20+ years ago) consulting at Appple asserted that Steve 'n Steve didn't know the proper spelling of McIntosh (the  apple), thus mistakenly denoting the first product of a couple of teenagers fooling around in Home Brew, arguably the largest computer club in the world.

(Encountered = heard not verified)

From what I know they knowingly misspelled the word. Just like the Apple logo has the rainbow colors in the wrong order.
A kind of anarchy.
