How important is the Java 1.4.1 update?

How important is the Java 1.4.1 update? I've never really understood what it does anyways.

Is it worth downloadinging? What improvements will it really give me?  huh.gif

It will allow you to run Java 2 programs, and supposedly Java 1.x programs will run faster. If you often visit sites that use Java often, it will probably be worth yor while to upgrade.
