Question Re. Adaptec 2930U??
« on: March 01, 2003, 11:13:00 PM »
I've had the aforementioned PCI card installed in my G4/dual 500 since I got it.  Have a small SCSI drive installed internally--never a problem in OS 9xx-9.2.2.

Now that I've installed Jaguar and upgraded to 10.2.4, the drive has never mounted in any version of X.  I called Adaptec and they upgraded my revision 4.2 chip to a 4.3--installed it today, did a permissions repair, restarted and it's still avoiding the desktop.         Also updated the driver shown on their site for X even though their info says it's included in Jaguar.  The Adaptec Techie said to do it anyway--it won't hurt.

Has anyone had any experience with this card and gotten it to work in X.  ASP in X has always recognized it which I find strange.  I also tried something else:  went back into 9.2.2 and put an alias to that drive in a partition.  Back in X, I tried to access it that way but it says it isn't there???               I am going to call them again on Monday to see if there's a jumper configuration I'm missing: on/off/on one pin???

Any suggestions would be 'mightily appreciated.
