I'm going to be setting up a similar sharing use soon as well and I believe you are correct in your assumption. If not someone will say so in a while. I think most of the TS crowd is watching the series' (baseball) games on the telly and will show up later...then again, you're probably asleep now anyway.

If nothing else, this will bump to the top. wink.gif

Thanks for the welcome, Krissel!

Let me know how you get on with your sharing - it could be a while before I go ahead: funds!

Ah, baseball! As a kid in Toronto, we played baseball in the summer and ice-hockey in the winter: they just put a fence around our school playground and flooded it for the rink [Go, Maple Leafs clap.gif ]

But I came back to England and muddy soccer pitches and muddy weather! Oh well sad.gif

Just a final confusion   With a router, I *don't* need to set up Internet sharing on the gateway machine as the router splits the data stream intelligently - right?

This is correct.

That's right David you don't need to. The router does all the work as far as splitting the data stream.

I'm still amazed at how well it works. My son can be on one computer playing a game over the internet and I can be on the other computer surfing the internet and neither of us experience any lag......truly amazing. clap.gif
