FREE Panther upgrade if ..

you purchased a mac in October ... ((((Maybe)))!!

Story:

Was at a compusa yesterday (one I've never been too before).

The comp salesman told me and others about this October 'free' upgrade.

Then one of those weekend 'warrior' apple reps came back from lunch [or whatever] and said maybe a discount but he never heard about a free upgrade.

Now this so-called weekend apple rep (which I have very strong doubts he knows how to tie his own shoelaces) pulled out a writing pad and started collecting peoples names, phone numbers and emails [if they had one] from this small crowd stating he'll find out and get back to them. Notice "them" ... not us!

My first and last impression of this green kids low-ball sales technique sent me out the door.
Didn't even want to pursue the question.

So I've no idea what the story is with panther.

Bill,

I think I bought my refurbed QuickSilver around October. Think I'm eligible?

BTW, most people don't know how to tie their own shoes correctly, that's why the laces are always coming loose.....nevermind...I can't explain the correct way in words.  biggrin.gif

To further clarify, you must have purchased a qualifying Mac or any G5 without Panther on or after October 8, in order to qualify for the $19.95 update program. The rest of us have to fork over the $129 or $69 if qualified for educational pricing. I just ordered mine today. smile.gif
