Lexmark Z32 on OS X very sloooow to print
« on: November 03, 2003, 03:25:58 PM »
I am doing my best to stay on OS 10.2.8, but it is a struggle. (iMac 600, NS 7.1)

The latest problem is that even though I downloaded and installed the OS X Lexmark driver from their website,  it appears that the printing process will  take anywhere from 5 to 50 minutes before the printer will start chugging away. During this time, I can hear little ticking in the iMac as though it is processing  the printing instructions or something.

I must admit that the"installation" of the downloaded driver update was a little flaky, the instructions were not as clear as they should be. But the website does not offer any recourse help.

Any suggestions out there?  BTW, the printer works fine when I am on OS 9.2.2

Am I faced with decision to buy a new printer? And what would be the best cheap printer for OS X?

oh,I forgot to add that the printer window says "Generic class:waiting for device" , and the progress bar keeps moving.
