DiskWarrior and 9.2.2 and X.2
« on: March 05, 2003, 02:16:00 PM »
Since I have a different computer coming that I'll be running 9.2.2 and OSX.2 on, I called Alsoft about DiskWarrior. I have the latest version, DiskWarrior 2.1, but it has a 9.1 System Folder on it and the Tech told me to burn my copy with a 9.2.2 System folder on it.

Has anyone gone this route? I do have the 9.2.1 CD so I suppose I could install it on another partition then upgrade it with the 9.2.2 updater download and burn that.

Am I correct in assuming this?

What I do is in OS X 10.2.x, open up Disk Copy, and create a new image (600 MB should suffice). On the newly created disk image, you can install and upgrade OS 9.2.1 to 9.2.2. After that, Install DiskWarrior on that disk image. Finally, use Disk Copy again to burn that image to a CD.

Works for me

Gary S,when you get your new 'puter, you'll get a whole pack of cds with it.
One will be the Mac OS G4 install.

Another way to get a fresh copy of the OS is to grab that system folder to a 'created' folder on your DT.
Then yank out whatever you don't need for a bootable.
Toss in that same 'created' folder DW and whatever you want.
Then burn it with Toast for a bootable.

Bill,

Thanks alot for posting that picture! I didn't know I would be getting that!
That will make things a whole lot easier.  :)I have to figure out a partitioning scheme and ....well you know the rest!

Giantmike, that's what i always did. I'm just a little worried about the new stuff. I'll get over it once the puter comes.

Thank you, thank you.

Bill,

I just got an email that my 933 came in. They are going to call me in the morning to set up delivery.

I sure hope I get all those disks with it!

Especially the one with 9.2.2.
I will treat them like gold that I panned for myself!

I save those pictures you posted so I can compare them when i get mine.
Thanks again pal.

Kruser,

I saw your post about transfering files problems. That's what I thought I would do is use ethernet.
