Help with iCard, please
« on: December 23, 2003, 01:39:02 PM »
Any idea(s) out there why good friends in the midwest, Windoze servants, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary, are unable to open my iCard recognizing the occasion? wallbash.gif

No, I don't know what kind of computer they have.

No I don't know what e-mail client they use.

That's really helpful, I understand

I do know they're not "on" WebTV.

Any ideas of what kinds of settings in older Windoze OSes, maybe '98 or earlier, might need to be tweaked in order to open an iCard from yers truly?

Biggest reason I can think of is updated Flash support. If it's a Flash 7 card and they've got flash support for v6... well...

Thanks, Scott, and Merry Christmas . . . . but . . .?

I haven't the foggiest!

I used the iCard at Dot/Mac, via Safari to produce my anniversary missive. I have no idea what/which app that might have also been involved on my Mac (if any), nor what version of whatever is represented by iCard's "performance" at the wed site.

How do I determine all that, so that I can recommend . . .errr . . .  something to our friends??? notworthy.gif

Dick, I sent a birthday iCard to my son only to have him reply that he couldn't see/open the card. He too was using a Windows computer. I tried to copy the card that was CC'd to myself and resend it. The results were the same.

??? huh.gif ???

i just sent an iCard to my self to see what happens on the other end.  The card that is sent is just a Jpeg file attached to the email.  If you can have them save it and open it in a web browser they may be able to read it. The Mail that comes with OS X also shows it in the message body, but at the top there is a paper clip that allows you to save it.  You could always save it on your computer and create a new message that only treats it as an attachment and send that to the people having problems with reading the card.
Hope it helps
Thanks
