Shortly after I installed Jaguar (10 days ago) I had a kernel panic. And so did I Absolute panic here. In desperation I phoned the Apple helpline and actually got thru after waiting hours. On their recommendation I wiped my main hard disk having first transferred all my critical docs to a slave, and re-installed.
Not too bad now, EXCEPT that I have wiped a few useful apps that were not on the slave. Doesn't matter if I've got disks, but some were downladed, and one I'm missing was a handy chap that could translate funny docs that Claris or AppleWorks couldn't. It was called i"something". Trouble is I've forgotten what the "something" was Frontal lobes are deteriorating rapidly. Does some kind TS have any idea what it was? All suggestions gratefully received.
