Has anyone determined why VueScan requires so much memory to function? I have a G4 with 512 MB of RAM and yet when I'm attempting to scan even a small B/W photo I'll get a error message that it couldn't get 11 MB to complete the scan. Then I check the "about This Mac..." and it tells me that VueScan is using 400+ MB of RAM. That seems like an awful lot of memory. BTW VueScan is the only software that operates my HP ScanJet 5300C. HP couldn't or wouldn't make the original software work so I "switched".
