Please help me organize a boycott of Spammers

Good idea.... When I connected this morning (first time at home since Monday) I had 26 emails. Deleted 21 of them (at least two with attachments) using Popthing before downloading the ones I wanted. Trouble is, the spam I get is not from recognised companies. Most are from "somename@recessionspecials" or something with "casino" in the name. How do you boycott them      ? As an aside, you don't think giving a straight e-mail link on your page will lead to even more spam do you?

I get an average of 70-80 spam mails each day... you really think it'll work? I've tried the "return" feature but those mails just keep bouncing back and I get a Mail delivery message back, rendering even more junk in my mailbox.

Since I'm on broadband I don't care much when I'm at home, but when I'm out traveling downloading 70-80 spam mails each day is a pain in the you-know-what.

I don't even HAVE a penis to enlarge, let alone do I need some golden Mastercard or lose 50 lbs in 2 days.

Wow! I'm down to less than 1 a week at home, and virtually none at work. I guess it has paid off for me to guard my address so carefully.

You are probably getting 'mail' from a 'friend' who is 1. using a PC and 2. has your addy in his address book. The PC is probably afflicted with a virus. Or he may have simply sent a cc message to someone else who added all those names to his list and that persons PC has the virus.

Of course, there is not much hope in getting people to use either better virus software or to stop using cc.

As for boycotting SPAMmers, I don't have any e-mail getting through that I don't already expect and/or approve. Most gets dumped by POPmonitor before I download it. Other get dumped by the filters in Eudora and get trashed there.

Not saying a boycott won't help. Especially if that is message actually reaches the companies. I just sent an e-mail to my cell phone provider about requiring the use of Flash on thier internet site. Another inappropriate use of technology, IMHO.

And I don't know how to 'boycott' the 'special' drug sellers, anyway. And local SPAMmers may not care any more about its negative impacts than those virtual ones!

Since an e-mail may cost only pennies (if that much!) it will always be profitable when only a very few people 'buy.' The only solution I see is to increase those costs (to the senders) in some way.

Hey kbear, good idea! If you want ,I can send you the list Spaminator https://spaminator.earthlink.net/ when it fills up again 125 in a few days. I get my share of spam, but between the Earthlink filter and the WebMail window I can stay virtually spam free with just a few moves and a little effort. I open the browser into webmail and view the content of my mailbox on Earthlinks server. Before I download I just delete the spam and never get unwanted email.

I use to use a schedule in Outlook Express that downloaded email every ten minutes and kept my connection ON, but since I installed this DSL, I removed the schedule and  now I don’t have to deal with the constant spam flow in the background.
