Having a problem trying to print a custom sized envelope from the Templates section of AW6. I have it set up as an A6 envelope (6.50 x 3.62 inches). The template shows up correctly with my pre designed Golden Retriever head and my return address on the template.
However, when I type in the addressee, sometimes several blank envelope templates will appear beneath my template. When I attempt to print a sample completed envelope onto a regular 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, the paper feeds nearly all the way through and the address is printed at the bottom of the sheet.
Hence, when I feed the correct sized envelope into the printer it spits the envelope out untouched and prints nothing.
Even when only one envelope template appears instead of multiples ones, it still spits the envelope out with no printing.
This is with an Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer that had been working wonderfully with OS X. I trashed all things Epson that I could and reinstalled the drivers, but to no avail.
I'm about ready to shut it all down and wax the Harley.

I, too, haven't been successful in properly formatting envelopes in AW6 in OSX, in my case on an Epson 740. Apple support recommended booting in OS 9 and using Epson OS 9 drivers! They said if I wanted to print in the Classic layer in OSX I would have to downgrade to AW5. Unbelievable.

I suppose I could boot into OS 9.2, but seems like sort of a pain when I only print an envelope every now and then. Might as well fire up my old Performa 6400 and print the thing with AW 5 and my Canon backup printer. Doesn't really seem worth the effort.

No solutions from here, either, Sluggo. Just "supportive" distress.

I am continually amazed at the shortcomings of AW6 . . . compared to my creaky, ricketty WordPerfect 3.5e. I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying only to get it to print a lousy Avery address label on a HP 4MV. Same-o, same-o, to your experience. Text waaaay off center and at right angles to where it was "supposed" to be.

I recognize AW6 is inexpensive. Why does it have to be so cheap?

(Additional Editorial Note: If there's a worse company for "tech support" for Macs, than Avery Deninson, I've yet to encounter it. About the same as in the early 90s, sad to say).

End of rant.

Sluggo,

Did you try making your own 'template' for your envelope?  I've never used AW's template although I do use AW for all my word processing, etc.--always make my own and choose 'maximum' in the 'page setup' on my Epson.  In X, it's found in 'page setup' --> Custom Paper Size [page attributes] --> Max. Print Size which allows you to have much narrower margins that you can enter yourself.  I then save those 'templates' I make--must have 4 or 5 sizes I use and then adjust for other odd sizes.  I do all our Christmas card envelopes that way, including merging names and addresses from the card database.

Hope it works for you--good luck!
