Does anyone on TS have a Cinema Display? I just got one and it's incredible! The detail you can see, compared with a CRT is kind of exciting!

My Sony G400 monitor is a nice monitor, but it's blurry in comparison with this cinema display.

Congratulations, Bruce!!!  Which one did you get??  I'm thinking about getting the 20".  My head tells me that I really don't need it but my eyes say, "Yes, Yes, Yes!!"  My stomach's been 'talking' to me, too!

I'm an obsessive-compulsive person. The idea of getting a cinema display has been on my mind since I saw one at an Apple store.

I went with the 23" HD Cinema Display.

(there goes my trip to Hawaii)

I have had a 22" display for over two years with never a bit of problem. My local VAR guaranteed no dead pixels and that is why I purchased it from him.

The pixel checker I presently use is Pixel Check 1.2 (freeware) http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo...fo/macosx/11661

Some may choose to DL a copy and then burn it to a CD or Zip so they may run a test/pixel check before taking the display home.

PIXel Check is     !!

I used the Automatic button to go through all the colors. I didn't see anything with Red, Green, Blue, but I saw what looked like a glowing pixel on the Black screen. Then, on the White screen, the same area looked like a dull pixel.

It was a piece of dust!!!

Whew!

Al, I think I might still be able to swing a trip to the islands. Maybe before another year has passed. The cinema display was purchased with inheritance money.

I think my father rolled over in his grave when I hit the "submit order" button.

No "designer" needs here, Bruce. Just an effort to improve web page reading by my spouse's (somewhat) aging eyes.

Got the 20 inch and it was worth every penny. Completely amazing. She has it with her G4/500 tower.

It replaced a 10 year old 19" Radius "Precision Color" that had gotten a bit less precise in recent months.

What card do you have/did you get?

I was fortunate in gettting some very sage advice (a lot of which came from Kelly and Harv) since I was wandering around in the fog in unknown territory.

I surely was grateful for all the help from TS.

Hi Dick,

My Mac came with the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro graphics card. From what I can tell, the card is actually designed to run a cinema display. I had to use a patch cord to run a VGA monitor.

That monitor seems to look better when it's connected to my older Mac with a Radeon Mac Edition card.
