Apple to use Intel (itanium) processors?
« on: March 27, 2003, 11:41:00 PM »
Hi People,

Cruising over a dutch Apple information site, they showed a topic about Apple, to change to Intel processors.
It seems Apple is really thinking to change to Intel's Itanium processors.

Hmmm... any thoughts?
For me, as long as they don't touch the smoothness and feeling of the original OsX platform... i don't really mind what processors they use.
Although it seems it will take another transition period to get them in a full line-up.

Thoughts? Yeah. It's silly.

Dvorac's comments have been discussed for quite a while.

General consensus?

He's a macbashing idiot looking for increased hit's to keep his job.

John C. Dvorak is a legend in the computer community, especially the Mac community. He's been more wrong more consistently on more subjects than any human being since Aristotle; so throughout the years, his predictions have been wrong so often that I would not trust him to predict that the sun will come up tomorrow.

Apple is considering a switch to 64-bit processors--but to the PowerPC 970, not the Itanium.

If Apple were to adopt an Intel processor, it'd be the end of Apple. No existing program--not one single one--would run on an Intel processor, and I guarantee that no commercial software vendor would be willing to support *three* platforms (Windows x86, OS X PPC, and OS X Itanium.)
A whole lot about me: www.xeromag.com/franklin.html

Hey M_B. Don't feel stupid about this.

There's an awful lot of people that take this guy seriously.

You keep posting whatever you think might be interesting here.

Hope you enjoy that Game.

Many people liked it a lot.

You might especially enjoy the multi-player part of it.

Have you ever seen the Star Trek Voyager shows?

I have seen the first seazons yes, but since i'm on my own, and no cable here i didn't saw them.
Just like i missed the X-Files but... i made that up by watching entire seazon 6 in Boston... in one week time
5 dvd's with 4 shows each, and 1 with 3 shows.
Gosh, it was a great seazon, i loved all of them (one was a bit less).

Hehehe...

Com'on, be honest... it's just great to see the alltime calm and hunerable Patrick Sterwart in a raging anger, destroying half of his captain quarters, hehehe
