Imation SuperDiskette Saga

iMac, OS9.1, 233mhz, 160mb ram

Sigh. After 3 tries, I finally purchased two diskettes formatted for Mac. Eventually, Imation came through with a replacement of my original flawed diskette. It is not formatted for a Mac. Yes, I told them it was a Mac. How do I format it?

Fiona, This oughta do it...

1. Boot in to OS 9.x.
2. Insert the PC formatted disk in the Imation Superdrive.
3. Make certain File Sharing is turned off as one cannot erase or format a shared disk.
4. Go to Special in the Menu Bar and then select "Erase Disk..."
5. You will then be presented with the option of naming the disk. Immediately below that is a pull down menu in which you can select the desired format: Mac OS Standard, Mac OS Extended, or DOS.
6. Select your format of choice and then click "Erase."
7. The disk will then be erased and reformatted as you directed.
8. Enjoy.

At least that's the theory.
