I really know little of either, but up/out there in KlingonLand are the Varan references intended to denote means of transportation or topographies?

Just thought I'd ask.

While it's possible that I might know a Klingon-ite if one sat down on my lap, I ain't never been to Varan, nohow, and so I can only spec-u-late.

*grin...this has been fun. I must confess I've kept quiet until I could verify my first intuition. I feel somewhat comfortable at the moment that I'm not inserting foot in mouth, but the risk is still there.

I can't find any reference anywhere on the 'net to a Varan Plain or Plane on the Klingon home world. A Varan was a being that battled with another to their own mutual extinction...based on a story I found. These battles seemed to have been on a world named Berengaria Four.

*grin...only stories I know..and Sneakers...I love the banner. It seems a realistic view of what that world might look like.

So, RHP, this thread has been of great interest...to me at least so the count should go up by one..

What a delightful rejoinder . . . especially since you didn't even have to issue any "confession", crapulous or not!    

I have already confessed that I know virtually nothing about Star Trek, though I have a couple of 40-something sons who have been fans since the beginning.

Accordingly, Diana's Distinctions were well beyond my poor powers of perception.

Well, it just goes to show you...I figured that the obscurely referenced planes were themselves obscured by the prominently visible prominences that figure so starkly in the banner.... or something...

Oh yes, are you certain the legend is correct? Couldn't that love interest have been a Stearman?
