Your Mac Account is now your Apple ID?
« on: April 22, 2003, 05:09:00 PM »
Just got this e-mail from Apple,,,,,Wouldn't it be nice if it really was! Mine isn't, and my password won't work at all.    The e-mail vanished too.
I paid for the new $50 extension too.  Gone, oh well,,,,,,,,

What the heck, most of my pictures are now on Pbase.com now anyway.

I've read about passwords not working.... and the reason is if you have a password with more than 8 characters (I think it was) so if it's longer, just type in the first 8 since that's what the reports has said been working. I myself only have 6 so I never had a problem.

Thanks, Cyberpet, for the explanation.
Apple's e-mail yesterday so baffled me that I just saved it to the Desktop to wait until  if or when my brain seems rested enough to tackle its deep meanings.
I did immediately go to my .Mac account to log on & all was ok.
My password is also less than 8 characters.
