OS9.1 and lag...slower
« Reply #30 on: August 06, 2003, 06:16:54 PM »
Hey Gary
In  my experience Virtual Memory ON demonstrates the same symptom as you described here.......
“seems to be running slower.....like a slight lag in the Finder and other programs including the internet.
This slowness manifests itself in typing, scrolling, opening folders and docs etc.”

I also experience it when my drive is nearing full capacity.

Sandbox,

I always turn VM off with OS9.1. I checked and it's off. wink.gif

I reinstalled Netscape 7.02 from scratch and tossed Netscape 7.01 and it's doing the same darn thing with the scrolling. It scrolls fine with the wheel but the bars are slow...they stop about every 8 ticks and then they go again.

Come to think about it....this all kind of started when I trashed my inbox doc. in my Netscape Mail folder because it was 70 some MB and there was nothing in my inbox.

I've got to find a browser for 9.1.  dry.gif With tabbed windows.

Netscape 7.02 seems slow.

Bill,
No problem on the G4....Vrooom. smile.gif

I'm thinking maybe I'm just spoiled from the G4. It's got more horsepower.

I'm going to go and see how many addresses and stuff I may have lost in the upgrade!   ohmy.gif

Gary, if you really think it is a browser issue, test this theory by running IE for example. If the other browser does the same ....

I did Bill.

IE runs fast, no scrollin bar probs. I just got really used to tabbed windows.

Silly huh?   Hurt.gif
