There is a limited number of avatars to pick from here if you don't have a place to keep one on the internet. Click on My Contols at the top, and you'll see the list of things you can do. Go into Board Settings to pick from the avatars here.

I did not see an option to automatically disable a saved signature. Seems that if you have a signature, the default is to show it and you have to click it off each time you post if you prefer to hold it in reserve for special topics. Of course, one could always take it down.

There is a lot yet to be done.
What you see is not the final product by any means.

The skin you all have is the default that comes with the software. We will be offering a choice of skins in the near future as we get them set up to accept our welcome banners and put in our logo, etc.

Also some tweaking is needed to get box sizes proper.

Just a note that when you reply generally to a thread, use the ADDREPLY button at the very bottom of the page. The reply box that is just below a particular post is to reply directly to that post. We didn't have that feature before and it may be confusing at first.

It is certainly slow at the moment, around 10 seconds after clicking reply etc for it to catch up.
However i LOVE invision board software, and it will certainly serve TS well.
Keep up the great work!  clap.gif

Using that reply box below your post got me here, quoting you. (I have edited out the rest of it manually.)

I have tried the "Quote+" button, but find that confusing. It reveals that it is "Toggle multiquote addition" -whatever that means. When I click it to open a new tab, it opens a clone of the same page. Someone will have to explain the purpose of this, and how to use it for "old dogs" like me.

Gregg, the quote button on the reply screen seems to do a better job...I think! smile.gif

Good morning,

For several days I had tried to open Techsurvivors without success and was saddened to think that I had lost this wonderful community where every Mac issue I have raised here has been answered with professional alacrity.  Boy is it a pleasure to be here, I couldn't care less that the board is slow because I know that those who administer this board are dealing with this.  I have but one request, once everything is in place and tested, etc., could we be told what are the changes/improvements.  As always, great to know that my Mac lifeline is available.

Thanks,

Johanbgoot

Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Multiquote is so cool! Say you want to quote two people or more in your reply, you just click on the Quote + below each of those you want their quote to appear in your reply box so you can reply to each of them individually in the same post.

I think it's simply fab!!!  clap.gif

And Johan, there is a partial list of what IPB 2.1 has in terms of new features in right here.

And I found some skins that IPB offers for IPB 2.1.

My favourite is this one. With a different header/banner like TS' own it would look very good. I love the colours! They look yummy!  yum.gif

Thank goodness TS is back!  clap.gif
Felt quite lost without it for the past few days.  Congrats Admins on a great new site.  Thank you.
As for the speed, it's of secondary importance.  Sure, it would be nice if it were faster (and eventually it probably will be) but the important thing is to have access.

Thanks again.  clap.gif  clap.gif  clap.gif  clap.gif  clap.gif

I like Naïtak Skin and Abstract Blue is different, but not jarring.
Do not fear your enemies.  The worse they can do is kill you.  Do not fear friends.  At worst, they may betray you.
Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

I'm with kelly about the neutral (like the previous Snow) scheme.

At least one or two choices with colours! Please. Pretty please!  tongue.gif

I already linked you guys to Hunters & Collectors 2.1 but I'll do it again.  laugh.gif

Automn Skin is nice too, with a big space for the TS banners.

Another one that isn't too bad is IBR Green Style where the colours are more neutral. But I slightly prefer the other two, they have more life. More jazzy.   yahoo.gif

But... I wonder. Are these free?  unsure.gif
