Audone, glad you got it to work.

Can someone tell me where to find the "Custom Member Title", please. MHC mentioned it in another thread, and I know where to find it on my own board, and others using IPB software -- but I can't locate said option here.

At the top of the page, under the banner is a link to the Help files.  Many questions can/will be answered there.

As to the avatars, I don't know, so I'm asking IPS.  They've been great!  But it was a holiday weekend, so I haven't questioned the delays.

I tried to add a jpg pic from my computer as an avatar and got this message "You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar or personal photo".

What type of file is allowed?  Thinking.gif

And what size should it be?

It's likely a javascript issue. Make sure you have that turned on in your browser's prefs.

They must be one of three types: GIF, JPEG, and something else, probably PNG. TIFF's are definitely not allowed. The allowed types are posted on that page in small ( English ). harhar.gif

However, file size should be no problem, several hundred KB's as I remember.

But, I don't think the board is set up to allow getting a file directly off your drive, yet. So you may get an error message even if you have the correct file type and size. More likely, you will just get the 'generic' your input has been accepted, please wait while we take a short tea break. Or click here if you don't want to wait." message. Then, you be back on the Avatar page and it still won't be showing. So much for Invision's definition of "success"!

NOTE TO ADMINS: Why in the world would anyone want to wait? Thinking.gif  doh.gif  Those are bogus messages/texts. It only points out the slowness of the board. I'm wondering if we can dump that verbiage? And clicking the other link doesn't help, anyway. This is a perfect example of useless verbiage/interface design, not to put too fine a point on it...[end rant for the day hour]

Thanks to your post, kimmer, I mustered the courage to try FastReply. I guess the limitation is you have to know your smilies by heart. :that one with the confused look:

This board software is cool. Look under hte fast reply window and you'll see "Enable Smilies". Click that and all the cute smilies pop up in a little window. smile.gif

Gregg, Ya gotta click on the "Enable Smilies" even though it is enabled. In a few seconds, the  smilies box will appear. At least it should. rolleyes.gif

Click on the link, "Enable Smilies" (it's underlined) and the window should pop up.  And Gregg-is your avatar supposed to look like that?
