As long as you want to and as long as they work you can still use the old VCR and television to play the old stuff.  I wouldn't necessarily expect to buy that stuff new much after 2008 though!

I still use any appropriate technology to do the job at hand: I don't see myself playing VCR tapes on anything but a VCR.  I also don't have a cell phone (haven't had one since 1996 when I quit the last job that gave me one to use).  If I had one I would want one that was a phone (no internet, no music, no camera) maybe just a limited text messaging (free of course) and good service that didn't drop out on me or cost too much.  According to this I'm not alone:

Yeah. I still use a flush toilet also...

and a calculator

a convection oven

a 35mm film camera

a gasoline only automobile

a turntable

a cassette deck

Mac OS9
