This BBC plus the other links may shed a bit of light on the matter.

basically there are a load of thieves (Pirates? ) hanging around the site.

Don't worry, kbear, I heard today the an even better item is available, especially useful for some of those 65% of the country who are spending too much time with their computers!

A philosophy student in CA ( where else? ) is offering his life to the highest bidder. He'll review his life history ( only 24 years ) and introduce you to all his friends, family, work place buddies and his ex-girl friend. Plus, you'll get a four-week course on his philosophy! I haven't checked, but there was one bid at $ 5,900 early this morning. wallbash.gif Sounds a little over-priced to me. Thinking.gif But at least you now know where you can "get a life"! Groaner.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

According to The Independent he is an Aussie. And someone actually paid A$7,500.

Now who or what is it that's (allegedly) born every minute? smile.gif

It also turns out that it was NOT P.T. Barnum who said it according to The Wikipedia

Of course bidding has ended, but since "it" is transferable one may want to contact the "winner", who knows ...

That's interesting. Another "rural legend" debunked.

Just heard the other day about an 1890's story of a fisherman swallowed by a giant fish, then being rescued. It's not true either. Just some zealous person trying to prove Jonah and the "whale" was possible.

I could swear Jeopardy attributed that saying to Barnum just this past week.  Thinking.gif

I don't believe it. But there's a sucker born every minute who would.  biggrin.gif
