While I agree with your distaste for Google, I think Chrome is the only browser that runs Flash® in a sandbox. Does Firefox also do that? The advantage is that you can have the flashy stuff (no pun intended, of course!) some sites demand but you don't have to put up with the garbage that Adobe puts all over one's drive(s). And it's security problems are restricted to the browser. Plus, when it needs updating, Chrome takes care of that, also. I can now pretty much ignore Flash®.
Is there something in particular that you are annoyed by in Chrome?
What is this "garbage that Adobe puts all over one's drive(s)"? In its latest forms Flash seems to be a fairly tidy install.......
My Safari rarely crashes and I use it pretty much exclusively. FreFire I use to connect through my UK proxy to stream BBC and the like because you can set the proxy for FF only and turn it off at will whereas to use a proxy with Safari you have to change System Preference or switch SP with Locations.
As for Chrome (never liked it much on cars ;-} ) I stay away from Goog as much as possible. If you don't like what Facebook does with your personal data you really shoud have a mad hate on for Google.
