TS outrageous outages

Around 9 pm CDT (7 pm Left Coast Time), 7/25/2008, two TSers were getting a file download from a link to TS. "index.php" For some reason the server was giving me the PHP file instead of sending it to the PHP interpreter. dntknw.gif Seems to be working now. Oh well...

Seem to have been a major downtime Aug 5 or 6.

Highmac had great difficulty getting to TS most of Tues (5th) and initially the server stats agreed by showing that we only had about 1/9 of the usual traffic.  However, checking them again just now, they show Tues as being normal and Wed as being way below normal.

What has your experience been?  Did you try to get to TS Tues or Wed and not get in?

Jack, I get that same message on occasion when I click on "Mark this forum as read and return". But I can re-enter the forum and do whatever else I want. dntknw.gif

Don't forget - we get Wednesday before you do, though I'm not sure how relevant that is! Thinking.gif

Little bit of trouble getting in here about 45 mins ago (17.45 UK), ("Techsurvivors taking too long to respond"), but second attempt, through Safari, worked OK. Just tried FF again and went straight in. All other sites I visit seem to be OK, though they are UK.

Hopefully, things will settle down again now. wink.gif

Thanks, Kris, for your efforts.

Tuesday, 8/12/2008: At the local Apple Store around 10:30 AM playing with an iPhone. Attempted to get to TS by typing in the url "techsurvivors.net" but Safari said it couldn't find the server. Tried by Googling TS and clicking the 'Tech' link, same results, server could not be found. However...

Attempted to get to .Mac/Mobileme and got the same screen for a short period of time. The site did finally show up, though.

So, not sure if it was ASO or a over-crowded connection at the store. dntknw.gif

A short time later, I was able to access TS from the same phone. rolleyes.gif

An aside...
The store was still requiring folks to line up, get a 'ticket' and wait for a clerk to assist them in purchasing the 3G. And there were still quite a few customers getting them!

Did they send you that?

As far as I know TS wasn't offline. At least I didn't put in a ticket.  Thinking.gif

Hi,

The server is currently seeing a higher than normal load level, we're working to lower it now. It should be back to normal in the next 10 to 15 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.
